New doctor, Scarlet Fever, Baby names

I saw a new gynae yesterday and I like him. He's informative, talks quite a bit and he's got a dry sense of humor. He confirmed that baby is definitely a boy and says he is happy with everything. He says it looks like I'm going to have a normal pregnancy. Baby is weighing in between 151-160g's and is between 14-15cm's. Doctor says if everything is favourable closer to my due date, he doesn't see why we can't attempt a VBAC. I need to read up more on the pros and cons and what to do in the weeks leading up to the birth to prepare for a vbac. I really would like to experience this.

I am 16 weeks along and feeling every classic bit of pregnancy symptoms.
- headaches : I know that headaches are normal during pregnancy and I got them with Matthew as well. But having sinusitis and suffering with those headaches and only being able to take Panado is ridiculous.
- cramps : on and off whole day for the last few days now.
- ligament pains : now this is on a whole other level than what I felt with Matthew. Every time I get up from a sitting position, I get this pain on my right side that takes my breath away. I know it's normal but wow!
- constipation : why this one???

Matthew has taken to being extra careful around me. Always saying sorry if I even just moan from a cramp or something. He is so careful around my belly. I think he's going to be a wonderful big brother.

He's had a bit of a rough time this week when he got diagnosed with Scarlet Fever. Not something you hear of very often and yes, my child would contract the disease. He's healing and starting to feel better but still very clingy. Ai, hope this goes away quick!

After my last blog post about wanting a little girl, I feel like I am over that now. I am still a little envious about my friend getting her little girl in May and when I think about the pink and bows and ribbons in their future, that green eyes monster lurges. But I get to be surrounded by my boys. With soccer and cricket practice in the future. And lots of dirt and bicycles and grubby arms around my neck. I will always be blessed to have 2 little boys who will call me Mommy. I look forward to that :)

I need help with names. I have no clue where to start or what I like or anything. And Mark isn't much help either. He is going to expect me to come to him with a list of names and then he's going to knock each one off. lol I need to make a plan with this.

Looking forward to....... seeing baby again on 17 April with the detailed scan...... Seeing gynae on 12 May......... booking hospital bed......... having baby!

  1. Glad you like the new doc!
Ai, hope Matthew gets better quick-quick.
I also felt the ligament pains a LOT worse this time around compared to first pregnancy!
Regarding the names, I suggest you start a list, be it on your pc or on a piece of paper, and start writing down names you like. We literally had an A4 page filled with names when we started the process! Then would just eliminate every now and then.
There are so many baby-name websites, and look at meanings too - often a maybe-name becomes a love-name because of a special meaning.
    Good luck!!
    xx

    1. Thanks for your comment Jess. And you're right re the names. I have started a list, though.
